Reflection- Gandalf & Tolkien Painting - Prints

We have commissioned Matthew to create a series of authors with their most famous characters for our store. These will only be sold through our Gallery at Moon's Rare Books. 

This painting is of Gandalf and J. R. R. Tolkien with their pipes. Both share an air of quiet contemplation and a love for simple, earthy pleasures. Tolkien was often photographed with his pipe, lost in thought or surrounded by the calm of nature—much like Gandalf resting after a long journey through Middle-earth. For Tolkien, the ritual was a moment of reflection and creativity, just as Gandalf’s pipe became a symbol of wisdom and peace amid adventure.
