Description
Dante Alighieri was a renowned Italian poet, philosopher, and political thinker born in Florence in 1265. He is best known for his epic poem The Divine Comedy, a literary masterpiece that explores the realms of Hell (Inferno), Purgatory (Purgatorio), and Heaven (Paradiso). Written in the Tuscan dialect, the work helped establish Italian as a literary language. Dante’s writings reflect his deep religious beliefs, his political struggles in Florence, and his admiration for classical philosophy and literature. He died in exile in Ravenna in 1321, leaving a lasting legacy in both literature and theology.
