This thirty-first printing of The Hobbit (1975) is a fine edition of Tolkien’s timeless adventure. A desirable copy for collectors or fans of Tolkien's work. Published by George Allen & Unwin, the book features its iconic green cloth binding with dark blue lettering on the spine and front cover. Yellow gold endpapers with a inscription in the front from a previous owner; the pages are clean and well-preserved. The dust jacket shows edge wear; including a four inch tear along the bottom right side of the spine, a small section of the top of the spine missing, small half inch tears along each of the four spine corners, small half inch vertical and horizontal "half square" tear in top corner on front of cover, dark red one inch crayon or colored pencil mark on front cover. Overall the jacket is in good condition. Green cloth binding has large white discoloration on the top right and bottom left corners of front cover that continues onto the bottom of the spine, and bottom right corner of back cover.
