Notes

A Collection of Anthems Used in His Majesty’s Chapel Royal and Most Cathedral Churches in England and Ireland is a compilation of sacred choral works designed for use in royal and ecclesiastical settings. Published in the 18th or early 19th century, this collection includes anthems traditionally performed in the Chapel Royal and other significant cathedrals, reflecting the rich liturgical and musical traditions of the Church of England.

The book features compositions by renowned English composers such as Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, Henry Purcell, and George Frideric Handel, among others. These anthems, often written for royal ceremonies, state occasions, and religious services, showcase a blend of reverence, grandeur, and musical excellence.
