Notes

"Te Deum for the Victory of Dettingen" (HWV 283) is a choral work composed by George Frideric Handel in 1743. Commissioned to celebrate the British victory at the Battle of Dettingen in the War of the Austrian Succession, it is a grand and jubilant piece. The work is structured in 18 movements and combines powerful orchestral music with choral and solo vocal sections. Its premiere was performed in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London, making it one of Handel's significant contributions to English ceremonial music.
