Notes
The Septuagint is the earliest Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, traditionally said to have been completed by 70 or 72 Jewish scholars in the 3rd century BCE. Originating in Alexandria, Egypt, this translation was primarily created for the Jewish community in the Hellenistic diaspora who spoke Greek. The Septuagint holds significant historical importance as it was widely used in the early Christian church and frequently cited in the New Testament. It also provides valuable insights into the textual variations and interpretations of the Hebrew Scriptures during that period.
