Notes
A Voice of Warning, written by Parley P. Pratt in 1837, is one of the earliest and most influential books in early Latter-day Saint (Mormon) literature. Pratt, a prominent leader and missionary in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, used this work to explain and defend church doctrines, while appealing to readers to consider the prophetic and restorative aspects of the church's message. The book combines scriptural interpretation, prophecy, and theological discussion to argue that God’s true church had been restored through Joseph Smith. A Voice of Warning played a key role in spreading the message of the church across the United States and internationally, particularly in England, becoming a foundational text in early church missionary efforts.
