Description
Brown pebble leather binding with gilded gold embossed designs on the covers, spines, and turn-ins. Thin scratch across leather cover about six inches long and discolored spot adjacent to it. Five raised bands on spine with gold embossed lettering. Illustrated throughout with maps and plate engravings. Title page illustrated in rich red, green, and blue. Includes two cardboard leaves with sixteen spaces to hold daguerreotype-size photographs. All edges of the binding leather are rubbed down slightly. Gold fore edges rubbed down in small spots, large fore-edge brass clasp, moire silk endpapers, and inner hinges are reinforced with cloth binder’s tape.
