Anne Frank was a Jewish teenager who became one of the most well-known victims of the Holocaust due to her poignant diary, The Diary of a Young Girl. Born in 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany, Anne and her family fled to the Netherlands to escape Nazi persecution. In 1942, they went into hiding in a secret annex in Amsterdam, where Anne chronicled her thoughts, fears, and experiences during the two years they lived in isolation. Tragically, the family was betrayed, and Anne was eventually sent to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where she died in 1945. Her diary remains a powerful testament to the human spirit amid unimaginable suffering.
