Bach
5R; 1889 Preludes, Fugues and Fantasies
Notes
Johann Sebastian Bach, a renowned German composer and musician of the Baroque era, died in 1750, so he did not live until 1889. However, by 1889, Bach's music was undergoing a resurgence in popularity, thanks to the efforts of 19th-century composers and musicians such as Felix Mendelssohn, who had revived interest in his works earlier in the century. By this time, Bach was widely recognized as one of the greatest composers in Western music, with his intricate fugues, sacred works, and keyboard compositions becoming central to classical music performance and study.
