The Book of Commandments is a foundational text in the history of the Latter Day Saint movement, originally published in 1833. It contains revelations and commandments received by Joseph Smith Jr., the movement's founder, primarily during the late 1820s and early 1830s. These revelations were considered by followers to be divine instructions guiding the Church of Christ, later known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Book of Commandments laid the groundwork for subsequent sacred texts within the movement, such as the Doctrine and Covenants.
