Description

The 1881 edition of the Book of Mormon printed in Liverpool, England, was a significant publication for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during a period of active missionary work in the British Isles. Issued under the direction of the British Mission, this edition reflects the Church's efforts to provide accessible scripture to converts and members abroad. Printed by William Budge, it followed the 1879 edition edited by Orson Pratt, featuring chapter summaries and revised verse divisions to aid study and comprehension.
