Notes
Eldorado is a legendary city of immense wealth, often associated with gold and treasures, which captured the imagination of explorers for centuries. Originating from stories told by indigenous peoples of South America, particularly in Colombia, Eldorado was thought to be a place where the king was covered in gold dust and would dive into a lake as part of a ritual. European explorers in the 16th and 17th centuries embarked on numerous expeditions in search of this mythical city, although it was never found. Over time, Eldorado has come to symbolize unattainable dreams of riches and adventure.
