Description
Letter reads:
Salt Lake City, April 18, 1860
Dear Elder W.J. Appleby,
Dear Brother:-
As Don Carlos Babbitt, Almon W. Babbitt's oldest son and the bearer of this letter, is about to start to assist his brothers an sisters from the frontiers to this place he will need some money to pay ferriage and other expenses, and I see no impropriety in your furnishing him, from his fathers estate, a reasonable amount for that purpose.
If you have no money on hand belonging to the estate, you doubtful can, without any difficulty, at once collect the amount Don Carlos may need.
Your Brother in the Gospel,
Brigham Young
