This new interactive illustrated edition, released on October 14, 2025, brings Goblet of Fire to life in a richly detailed, full-color version with eight paper-engineered (pop-up / pull-tab) elements — from the fiery Goblet itself to the maze of the Triwizard Tournament. It represents a deliberate continuation of Scholastic’s interactive illustrated Harry Potter series, following the first three books illustrated by MinaLima. MinaLima famously confirmed they were not commissioned to work on Goblet of Fire, making way for a new visual voice. Karl James Mountford was selected to take over because, as he says, he grew up with Harry Potter and feels deeply connected to its world — he hopes to honor the tonal spirit of the earlier editions while bringing his own “flavour of creativity” to the series. In interviews, he’s described the job as both humbling and exhilarating, recognizing the “huge footsteps to follow” but also embracing the opportunity to contribute something new.
