Description
Joan of Arc, a French peasant girl born in 1412, rose to prominence during the Hundred Years’ War by claiming divine guidance to drive the English from France. At just seventeen, she led French troops to key victories, boosting national morale and paving the way for Charles VII’s coronation. Captured by the Burgundians, she was handed over to the English, tried for heresy, and burned at the stake in 1431. Later declared a martyr and canonized as a saint in 1920, Joan of Arc remains a symbol of faith, courage, and patriotism.
