Notes

The King James Bible (1611), also known as the Authorized Version, was commissioned by King James I of England to resolve conflicts among existing English translations and unify the Church of England. Over 50 scholars worked on it, using earlier translations like the Tyndale Bible and Geneva Bible as sources. Renowned for its poetic and majestic language, it became the most influential English Bible, shaping religious, cultural, and literary traditions for centuries.

The Book of Common Prayer is a liturgical text central to Anglican worship, first published in 1549 and compiled by Thomas Cranmer during the English Reformation. It provides structured prayers, sacraments, and services for public and private devotion, including the Eucharist, morning and evening prayer, and rites for weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Known for its poetic language and theological depth, it has undergone revisions over centuries to reflect evolving practices while remaining a cornerstone of Anglican tradition worldwide.
