-King Richard III*
-King Richard III*
j, Thumb book Historical Play by William Shakespeare
Notes
King Richard III of England, who reigned from 1483 to 1485, is one of the most controversial and debated monarchs in British history. His brief reign ended in defeat and death at the Battle of Bosworth Field, marking the end of the Wars of the Roses and the beginning of the Tudor era under Henry VII. Richard III's legacy has been colored by accusations of tyranny and the mysterious disappearance of his nephews, the Princes in the Tower, for which he has often been blamed. His reputation, long maligned by Tudor propaganda and Shakespeare's dramatic portrayal, has undergone significant reassessment in recent years, particularly following the discovery of his remains in Leicester in 2012.
