Notes
The 1881 LDS Hymn Book, also known as the "Deseret Sunday School Union Hymn Book," was a significant hymnal in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Published in 1881, it contained a collection of hymns and songs that were used in LDS worship services and gatherings. This hymnbook was a revision and expansion of an earlier hymnal from 1861 and included 479 hymns, which ranged from religious themes to patriotic and inspirational songs. It played a central role in the musical worship of the LDS community in the late 19th century, fostering a sense of unity and spirituality among its members. Over the years, the hymnal has seen various editions and revisions to keep pace with changing musical preferences and spiritual needs within the LDS Church.
