Old Curiosity Shop
Old Curiosity Shop
5b Charles Dickens, London 1930s
Quote
"It is a tale that no one ever fully believes – a tale that never can be wholly true, but which, through some strange affinity with our own natures, is yet as near to truth as any that we can know on this side of the grave."
Note
"The Old Curiosity Shop" is a moving narrative that showcases Dickens' ability to evoke deep emotion and his concern for social issues. The story of Little Nell remains one of the most poignant in Dickens' literary canon.
