‘Reformation to Restoration’ Presentation with Reid Moon

$12.50

A Historical Presentation on the Reformation of Western Christianity, the Bible, and the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Description

Owner and collector Reid Moon has spent more than forty years building one of the world’s most significant collections of rare books and historical artifacts. In this special presentation, he will be sharing the history, stories, and significance of select pieces from his collection.

Designed primarily for youth groups affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this event explores the historical journey from the Protestant Reformation through the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While the presentation is tailored to an LDS audience, all are welcome regardless of religious background.

Beginning with William Tyndale—the 16th-century scholar who gave his life for translating the Bible into English—and continuing through key figures and events that ultimately lead to the founding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Reid will present rare books and artifacts that illustrate this remarkable history.

Highlights of the presentation include an early printing of Tyndale’s English Bible from the 1500s, a first edition of the Book of Mormon, and a copy of the Book of Mormon that belonged to Joseph Smith.

This is a ticketed event. All proceeds are donated to Generations Humanitarian (Genhu.org), a nonprofit organization that provides meals, educational support, and other essential resources to vulnerable children and orphanages in Venezuela, Colombia, and Peru.
