J.R.R. Tolkien’s Smith of Wootton Major is a short yet enchanting fairy tale exploring themes of creativity, wonder, and the connection between the mundane and magical worlds. The story revolves around a village called Wootton Major, where a mysterious star is hidden in a Great Cake baked for a festival. Young Smith, the protagonist, unknowingly swallows the star and gains the ability to travel into the magical land of Faery.
