Notes
The Federalist (also known as The Federalist Papers) is a collection of 85 essays written by John Jay, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton in 1787–1788. These essays were published to support the ratification of the United States Constitution and explain the philosophy and reasoning behind its key provisions. The authors argued for a strong central government to replace the weaker Articles of Confederation. Each essay addresses various aspects of governance, such as separation of powers, checks and balances, and federalism, providing crucial insights into the founding principles of American democracy.
