The Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum and first published in 1900, is a beloved children’s novel about Dorothy Gale, a young girl swept from her Kansas home to the magical land of Oz by a cyclone. Along the way, she befriends the Scarecrow, who longs for a brain; the Tin Woodman, who desires a heart; and the Cowardly Lion, who seeks courage. Together, they travel to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, hoping he can grant their wishes and help Dorothy return home.
