Through the Looking Glass: Version for Young Readers*
5c 1947 Lewis Carroll adapted by Roselle Ross, Maxton Publisher
Notes
The Through the Looking Glass: Version for Young Readers by Lewis Carroll was a simplified adaptation published in 1947, intended to make the classic story more accessible for younger audiences. This edition retained the essence of Carroll’s whimsical tale, where Alice steps through a mirror into a fantastical world, but it was edited for simpler language and shorter passages. This version aimed to capture the charm and imagination of the original, making it easier for young readers to follow Alice’s adventures with characters like the Red Queen, Humpty Dumpty, and the Jabberwocky.
